New Low Floor Bus Service in Noida, Greater Noida

A new premium bus service consisting of buses equipped with modern features including CCTV cameras, panic stop buttons, real time passenger information system, automatic bus vehicle location system and public address system was flagged off in Noida and Greater Noida regions of Uttar Pradesh. These new buses are manufactured by JBM Auto and were inaugurated into service by Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
The buses are low floor in design and are slated to operate on six routes located within the boundaries of Noida and Greater Noida. Noida Metro Rail Corporation will be making use of the real time passenger information system for making passengers aware of the bus location. The same information system will also be shown at the bus queue shelters in order to help the waiting passengers.
Christened as Citylife buses by JBM Auto, these operate on CNG as fuel emitting less carbon in comparison to petrol and diesel. The CV brand claimed the new buses to leave a positive impact on the rising pollution scenario in Delhi-NCR.
These newly commissioned 40 seater buses are manufactured at JBM’s Kosi Plant located in Uttar Pradesh. The buses also have provision for a wheel chair each.
The decision to induct new buses into service has come at a time nearing elections in the state. Many political parties may also cry foul play targeted towards free advertisement gimmick played by the current Uttar Pradesh government.
