VE Commercial vehicles saw an admirable all round performance in the previous year. The company's standing in the heavy trucks area grew after a market slowdown the previous year. Apart from the trucks space, the company also saw a wide boost in its market share of the bus segment. With the market condition now ripe for further growth, the company envisions tapping into various regions such as institutions and state transport networks to further enhance its growth in the coming year.
Of late, Eicher has been thriving on various state transport corporations in the country. Just recently, the brand had successfully delivered a massive order for vehicles set by the Karnataka state transport department. It had supplied nearly 800 buses to the state. Furthermore, it is also being considered by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation for a bulk order of 600 buses.
“Our hybrid bus comes with the current theme of green mobility. Trials are happening and it would be ready for market launch by next year. Our sleeper coaches will be ready by Q1 of 2017. However, we are awaiting regulations as there are no proper norms for such buses,” said Shyam Maller, a senior executive for the firm.
Shyam Maller, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing and Aftermarket said, “We had a good year in 2015 and we gained market share in bus segment. While we continue to gain share in school segment, our strong growth segment, we have been gaining in staff transportation market. We will see strong sales in STUs. Also, we have been increasing our presence in the route permit segment.”
